An Introduction

The purpose of this Bible study is to take you in-depth through Galatians 5:22-23. These two verses talk about “the fruit of the Spirit.” Each one of these studies will focus on one of the listed “fruits.” You can do them in any order, but begin and end with these short discussion questions.

Read Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Exploring the Passage

1)    What does it mean for something to have fruit? How can “the Spirit” have fruit?

NOTE: Read Acts 2:1-4 and Isaiah 11:2 for some passages on the Spirit of God.

2)    What does it mean to say there is “no law against them”?

3)    Do you think these fruits come naturally to people, or take effort to exhibit?
